MASyndicate.com is now up and running.
I'm putting together a team of the top guys and gals in our industry. I'm looking to bring this group together to share ideas and work together in creating some very important and powerful program to the international martial arts community.
The first of which is VERBAL JUDO. I'm very excited about this program and am sure it will have a giant impact in our industry. Read More

After talking to many of the martial artists who took the MastersJOURNEY course the first time around last fall, I've found there were a couple of things I could improve on.
Delivery of Content. Instead of sending people a Big Box of Stuff (which is just not very earth friendly and seems to pile up at home or in the office) I decided to go with 100% online delivery of all content.
Progressive Approach. How do you eat an elephant? That's right, one bite ... Read More

There are certain things in this world that we simply cannot learn through a discussion or intellectual
conversation. For children, there are some things that we simply can't explain
in easy enough terms without actually showing them through experience.
Focus, Discipline, Respect, Leadership and other life skills cannot be learned
by reading about them in a book, they have to be practiced and experienced to
truly understand.
Project Based Learning is a great way to immerse yourself (or your child) in a
leadership ... Read More

(From his blog post at http://ubbt.squarespace.com/our-blog-read-it/2009/8/12/ubbt-graduate-gary-engels-and-students-document-100-communit.html)
Gary Engels is an Extraordinary Student and Teacher of the Martial Arts.
He's one of those rare individuals who takes action, who follows through on ideas, and who isn't afraid to proceed, even when "how to proceed" is uncertain. The video above features Gary praising his students for successfully documenting their first 100 community projects.
This is, as far as I know, the very first martial arts school in the world that has purposely set out to achieve ... Read More

This is a new project that I will be launching at Leadership Workshop tomorrow night.
Tom Callos interviewed Mel Bartholomew, the best selling author and creator of the "Square Foot Gardening System"
This is a method of teaching children where our food comes from, teaching how to work with our hands, teaching how to cultivate and grow something (potatoes or a black belt) with patience, action, and persistence.
Listen to the interview here, you'll love this idea!

Boxes of Love
On my quest to be a person with more compassion and courage, I decided that I would take on a “worldly” project at the Leadership Academy. For some reason I have a very difficult time thinking ‘worldly’, almost as if I can’t wrap my mind around the idea of what it would be like to live in Third World conditions, or worry about where my family will eat their next meal…like when the media throws out numbers like “10,000 feared ... Here Are Some Examples of Projects That Other NLT Students Have Completed:
A Group of Boys in the NLT dug out an old baseball park bench out of the woods, cleaned it up, painted it, fixed it, and made it useable again at the local ballpark.
2 students, ages 9 and 11, decided to collect and donate toys for underprivileged children for Christmas. One students put out boxes and collected 109 toys. Another students put out some donation buckets and collected $150. With this ... Read More
