So, I decided I was going to take on a new challenge this summer and learn how to wakeboard. The first time out I tried about a dozen times and all I did was hurt my wrists and forearms because I (and the driver) didn't know what we were doing. Then, during the week, I looked up some basic wakeboarding instruction, found some video and information that made sense, applied the lessons and what do ya know... I got up and ... Read More

This simple and clever little video depicts the fundamental philosophy of my work --and what I think is askew with many of my peers who are "consultants" to the martial arts industry and martial arts teachers. The corporate world applied to my martial arts and life ---it isn't a fit. I dont' care about your Hummer, your rich friends, your Rolex, the car you're posing in front of, or how much money your throw on the tables when you visit Vegas. I care about ... Read More

Like in the case of the word ‘resolution’ which means: ‘to make a decision, promise, pledge or vow to find a solution to a problem or get a definite outcome and to resolve to make it happen through determination, tenacity and perseverance’ Now, don’t freak out! That’s good news. I know it sounds like work. But ... Read More

I've really been diving into the internet marketing world lately. In the last week, I've developed 3 websites/blogs and have been organizing content and ideas together preparing for the launch. Martial arts has been the backbone to every project that I've participated in or lead in the past couple of years. The mindset, the physical training, the discipline and depth, the integrity and focus. I'm excited because I will be putting all of these 'skills' to good use in the coming year. The UBBT ... Here Are Some Examples of Projects That Other NLT Students Have Completed: A Group of Boys in the NLT dug out an old baseball park bench out of the woods, cleaned it up, painted it, fixed it, and made it useable again at the local ballpark. 2 students, ages 9 and 11, decided to collect and donate toys for underprivileged children for Christmas. One students put out boxes and collected 109 toys. Another students put out some donation buckets and collected $150. With this ... Read More

Dear Leadership Student (and parents), Every great thing that has ever been achieved in this world has started with a single thought. The difference that causes someone to experience really BIG achievements in their life usually comes down to the size of the THOUGHT/IDEA that started their journey. When you start your journey, start it with the intention of learning and growing every time you complete your projects. You should start small, but start with the IDEA that it will grow and grow and grow ... Read More
